Sri Sri Ravi Shankar began The Laughter Revolution, formerly Laughter International, in August 2001. Carla Riechman, the president of Laughter International, immediately began holding laughing sessions throughout the United States. Carla is world renowned for her contagious laughter throughout the Art of Living Foundation community. Laughing sessions have been held in many corporations including the World Bank, Oracle Corporation and Hazmed, Inc. There also have been many private sessions throughout cities in the United States.
On March 22nd, 2010, Ms. Riechman went to do a laughter session at Sri Sri Center for Meditation and Peace in Washington, DC. Only one person came to the session. She conducted the session for that one person and realized that it is one smile, one giggle, and one laugh at a time that will bring laughter to the whole world. At that moment, Ms. Riechman realized that the world needed a Laughter Revolution. She immediately changed the name of Laughter International to The Laughter Revolution and will bring joy to the world with one smile, one giggle, and one laugh at a time.
Thiswill not cost any government any money and no violence will happen, because everyone already has their weapons. They just need to use their weapons -- their smile, their, giggle and their laughter -- and the more they use these weapons, the more powerful they will become. Hence, a new kind of revolution. It is The Laughter Revolution.
